Advocacy
In March 2016, Kristen participated in an international education advocacy event with her colleagues and international students. The Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act (S. 1287) (H.R. 351) and the Cuba Trade Act (H.R. 442) were passed and signed into law by President Barack Obama by the end of that month as a result of this initiative.
